"My first encounter with yoga was in the 70s, watching Lilias Folan on PBS. I would encourage my mom to join me in front of the television set and shared what I learned with other children at school during recess. A seed was planted then that blossomed into a formal practice that has sustained me into adulthood.
I lived in Los Angeles for 17 years before moving to Santa Cruz, and had the great pleasure of taking classes with an array of really talented teachers. Making the decision to become a teacher myself is the fulfillment of an impulse that began on a playground many years ago. I have a strong interest in the impact that yoga has on emotional health, in particular how it is helpful to people who are managing chronic low moods." Juko completed her undergraduate studies at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island. She has an MA in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University Los Angeles and a Ph.D. in Transpersonal Psychology from Sofia University in Palo Alto, California.
